Staff and students from Moorfields and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology visit the new centre
4 December 2025
On Wednesday 3 December, more than 130 staff and students from Moorfields Eye Charity, Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology visited the site of the new centre for advancing eye health in Camden.
They were able to explore levels 5 and 6 of the new centre, which includes outpatients, ocular prosthetics, education, wet labs, the staff and student canteen as well as the heart of the new centre - the atrium.
They also could see the Christmas lights all across London from the centre’s rooftop.
The event was an amazing opportunity for the staff and students to come together and engage with colleagues from different areas of the Moorfields network, including staff from Moorfields Eye Charity who shared updates regarding the philanthropic fundraising efforts for the new centre.
Attendees could also ask questions of a panel of Moorfields and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology staff. Questions focused on the timeline for the move to the centre, switching over services, wayfinding as well as how the two organisations will collaborate in the new centre.
