Core belief
People’s sight matters
Our six year strategy (2021 – 2027) outlines our ambitious objectives for the charity and our role supporting the work of Moorfields and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology.
It responds to what we’ve achieved over recent years, the impact of Covid-19 on society and eye health care, and where we want to be in the future.
There’s an emphasis on innovation in clinical care and staff wellbeing and development. With Oriel, the proposed centre for advancing eye health, planned for 2026/27, at the core of the strategy.
Our strategy brings together all aspects of our work and focuses them around our new central vision and mission, and the core belief.
You can find out more about our key objectives and how we plan to achieve them in our full strategy document.
It is vital for Moorfields Eye Charity to take a strategic approach to philanthropy, to ensure that its support enables Moorfields and UCL to remain at the forefront of research, patient care and education, with a life-changing impact on patients across the UK and worldwide.
Mervyn Walker, Chair, Moorfields Eye Charity
We’re already making strides towards achieving the objectives laid out in our strategy.
Our vision to create Oriel, the new world-class research, education and clinical care centre is taking shape.
We also publish annual impact reports to highlight our successes over the year and outline the difference we make to the lives of people with sight loss.
