Our latest issue of Visibility (autumn 2023) is out now. We share news on how, with your help, we’re supporting Moorfields and UCL, and changing the lives of people with sight loss.

In this issue, we focus on children’s eye health as we launch a new partnership with the Medical Research Foundation investing £1.7 million in children’s eye research. We also have tips from the experts at Moorfields on looking after children’s eyes.

And Chris Telesford shares his inspirational story from a Moorfields patient at one-month old to becoming an accomplished Taekwondo para athlete and coach.

We give updates on projects we’re funding which are expanding our knowledge of eye conditions and discovering new treatments, as well as improving specialist eye services:

  • Research into the elevated crowding effect in children with infantile nystagmus
  • Potential new treatments for aniridia – a rare genetic eye disorder
  • Innovations in the delivery of glaucoma and hypotony patient care.

We also report on progress at the Oriel site, the new global centre for eye health, as construction starts in St Pancras.

Thanks for your support and for making all this possible - you’re helping to save people’s sight in the UK and around the world.
