Do your own fundraising
We’ve put together some fundraising ideas for you- some can be done from the comfort of your own home, while others will allow you to get some fresh air whilst keeping yourself safe, and all of them will raise vital funds that support staff and patients at Moorfields.
No matter where you are, you can make a difference to those living with sight loss.
By shopping online using Amazon Smile and selecting Moorfields Eye Charity as your chosen charity, a free donation will be made to us with every purchase you make. Log in using your normal Amazon account and shop away- possibly the easiest way for you to fundraise ever.
Facebook birthday fundraisers
You can use your birthday to support Moorfields and create a future without sight loss. Set up a fundraiser on Facebook and ask your friends and family to donate to it instead of buying you gifts. It’s simple, accessible and means you don’t get a mountain of unwanted socks.
Quizzes are an accessible and easy way to keep connected with loved ones and to keep those brain cells active. Why not get all your friends and family together one evening and host a charity quiz night over Zoom?
Moorfields bake off
Who doesn’t love cake? Whether its fruity, gluten free or vegan, there is a cake to suit everyone. You can bake your favourite, then organise a tea party with friends and family over a video call, and donate the money you would usually spend at a cafe to Moorfields. Yummy!
Challenge your friends to a videogame marathon - how long do you think you can play for? Set a target and get those thumbs to work for a good cause.
Donate your commute
Many of us are working from home these days. If you’re saving money on your daily commute to work, why not get your colleagues on board and donate some of that money to support Moorfields?
One for the brave! A wingwalk is an epic challenge- taking to the skies strapped to the top wings of a plane. For those daredevil fundraisers looking for an adrenaline rush, this is the one for you. If you manage to fundraise more than £500, you’ll get to wingwalk for free with Wingwalk.Buzz
Take on an Ultra Challenge
Take on a challenge in 2021, support Moorfields Eye Charity and tick off a few of those new years resolutions. Take on a 100km, 50km or 25km Ultra Challenge and walk, jog or run your way round one of 14 incredible routes around the UK.

Once you’ve decided on your route, sign up and you can start your fundraising to hit your target of £500. We can imagine you’ll smash this target- this is a seriously impressive challenge!
Threshold Trail Series
A series of four 100km ultra challenges to push the body and mind. They are based on reaching a historic end point such as Bamburgh Castle and Winchester Cathedral, through outstanding scenery and challenging terrains. Not one for the faint hearted, but if you want to get fit, train hard and have a huge sense of achievement, all whilst raising funds for Moorfields, this could be for you. It’s free to register with a fundraising target of £500.
