Moorfields staff take on Moorfields Eye Charity’s first ever Spinathon!
6 February 2026
Moorfields Eye Hospital staff took on a challenging two-hour indoor cycle to raise vital funds for life-changing eye research and innovation.
On the 4th and 5th February, a stationary spin bike was set up at Moorfields Eye Charity hub in Moorfields Eye Hospital, City Road.
Each member of staff had a two-hour session, where they followed a cycling simulation video, and tried to cycle as far as they could in that time under constantly changing resistance.

The Moorfields staff see first-hand the positive impact that Moorfields Eye Charity has for their patients. Whether that funding new breakthroughs in research or equipment. That’s why they have decided to step up and give something back.
Moorfields Eye Charity has given a lot to research that has directly impacted my patients care and wellbeing. Taking part was the least I could do!
Sajjad Ahmad, consultant opthalmologist
There was also friendly competition throughout the event, and all of the participants were trying their best to cycle the furthest and be top of the leaderboard!
Special congratulations to Flossie and Gemma, our RDCEC play specialists, who topped the leaderboard!
