Alan Knight was treated at Moorfields Eye Hospital after being diagnosed with eye cancer in his right eye. He underwent an operation to remove his eye which helped save his life.

Moorfields is a hospital with amazing staff who took care of my every need whilst I was under their care. More importantly, they saved my life and gave me that second chance of living again and that is something I will always be grateful for.

As a way of saying thank you and to give back for the care he received, Alan set up a Facebook birthday fundraiser and asked his friends and family to donate to it instead of buying him gifts. He had a phenomenal response, smashing his original target of £150 and reaching over £1300!

We want to say a huge thank you to Alan, who works as a personal trainer, and to all those who so generously donated- you are amazing and your support will help ensure Moorfields continues to offer the best care to those living with sight loss.

I have and always will support Moorfields Eye Charity as no amount of money I will ever raise for them will come close to how they look after me whilst I was at the hospital.
