Eye to Eye 2025: a walk that makes a difference 

All ages and abilities joined us as we walked through the streets of London. Patients, their loved ones, staff and researchers came together under the sunny June skies to raise funds for life-changing eye research and innovation.

It has just been over a week since Eye to Eye and we have raised over £90,000 with more still rolling in!

This success adds to an even greater milestone — over the past decade, Eye to Eye has raised more than £1 million in total.

Supporters chose from 3 distances, including a 1 mile walk through the historic streets surrounding Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Those who took on the 5 and 15 mile routes passed the site of our new centre for advancing eye health in King’s Cross, Camden. Participants saw the exciting future home of Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology due to open in 2027!

The walk started and ended at our event village, located outside our Children’s Eye Centre on Peerless Street. 

Here, supporters enjoyed complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits, generously provided by Starbucks, while soaking up the lively atmosphere. The event village featured live music from a band, a fun-filled children’s activity corner, and a range of engaging stalls to explore.

To kick off the fundraising walk in high spirits, The Gym Group hosted an energising group warm-up, getting everyone stretched, motivated, and ready.

As walkers made their way along the scenic route, there were checkpoints where participants could hydrate and receive a boost of encouragement.

Our cheer squad made of staff and volunteers were at the finish line to celebrate every participant arriving.

Each participant proudly received a commemorative medal in recognition of their dedication and achievement.

Participants had the opportunity to enter our raffle featuring a range of exciting prizes.

Over the same weekend, we also held My Eye to Eye, allowing supporters to run, ride, or walk their chosen distance from their own doorsteps between 21-22 June. 

Whether in the heart of London or in the peaceful countryside, our amazing supporters were out in force.
