Luke Collier runs the London Marathon for Moorfields
27 October 2025
Luke Collier, clinic coordinator at the paediatric, strabismus and neuro department at Moorfields Children’s Eye Centre has a place in the TCS London Marathon 2026 and will be raising money for Moorfields!
Twenty-six year old Luke sees the benefits of Moorfields Eye Charity’s work first hand as he works directly with patients within the clinics.
As part of his role, he manages three different clinics a week for three doctors. He also takes on several admin tasks such as booking appointments and follow-up appointments.
Meeting the kids in the children’s department and seeing what they go through makes me realise how important the research funded by Moorfields Eye Charity is.

One of the doctors Luke works with is Professor Michel Michaelides, who works on research funded by Moorfields Eye Charity.
Taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2026
Luke has wanted to take part in the London Marathon since he moved to London two years ago.
When I found out I got a spot in the London Marathon through Moorfields, I was over the moon. I didn’t think I would get it. I have a few goals for the year including running a marathon. I am so happy, honoured and really looking forward to it.
