Katie at work in Moorfields using a machine

Eye to Eye is our annual fundraising walk, celebrating its tenth anniversary on Sunday 23 June 2024. Katie has an amazing life-long connection with Moorfields and is giving back by taking part.

Moorfields has a special place in Katie’s heart and she feels so passionately about the work they do supporting people living with sight loss.

She grew up living close to the hospital and has close family who are being treated at Moorfields. In 2021, she decided to work at the Trust joining as an ophthalmic technician across many sites then as part of the new patient enquiry team at Moorfields Private.

Moorfields’ commitment to excellence in care has not only provided essential treatment but also offered a sense of comfort & reassurance during challenging times. I aim to shed light on the profound impact Moorfields Eye Hospital has had on my family and me, and the invaluable role it continues to play in our lives.

My wife and I have decided to walk Eye to Eye, to say thank you to the charity direct for all it does behind the scenes for Moorfields. We both have family members who rely on the services offered at Moorfields and in turn want to give back on their behalf but also for the next generation who will come to also appreciate the services available at Moorfields.
