About the speakers
Bérénice Magistretti
Bérénice Magistretti is a Swiss/Italian writer and disabilities activist. She has retinitis pigmentosa and after realising that there weren’t any beautiful, stylish canes out there, she decided to design her own. With her recently launched platform, Visible Voices, she is on a mission to break the stigma around disabilities and encourage other people to be more vocal and visible about their own disabilities.
Dr Julio Corral-Serrano
Julio Corral-Serrano is a senior research associate at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology in London, UK. His research interests are focused on the biology of cilia and inherited retinal dystrophies (IRDs). He also has work funded by Moorfields Eye Charity.
