Moorfields Eye Charity attended Moorfields’ Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 25 July. The event discussed progress made in delivering the trust’s key objectives over the last 12 months and was an opportunity for patients, members and the general public to learn about the latest developments at Moorfields.
Moorfields Eye Charity had a stand for patients and staff to visit and ask questions on the latest news and developments from the charity. They also had the opportunity to sign up to our latest fundraising event at the Olympic Park on Sunday 17 September, where patients, staff and friends can take on a 262 feet abseil to raise vital funds for Moorfields.
After refreshments, everyone joined the main presentation for a great insight into the year through finance, research and much more from the hospital. There were also two guest speakers, Professor Sir Peng Tee Khaw, consultant ophthalmic surgeon and director of research and development, and Mariya Moosajee, honorary consultant ophthalmologist. Peng and Mariya treated the audience to a fascinating insight into their recent research and how it could benefit Moorfields patients.
A summary of the trust’s achievements and developments can also be found in Moorfields Eye Hospital annual review for 2016/2017.
