Moorfields Eye Charity has launched a new grant management system to improve the submission process and management of our grants.

The Moorfields Eye Charity grants and research team receives grant applications from Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology through a range of grant programmes.

As our portfolio of awards continues to grow, we wanted to find new ways to streamline our processes, to give applicants and award holders a straightforward system to submit applications and manage their awards. It will also provide a more user-friendly application process experience for our stakeholders and greater grant management control for the charity.

What is changing?

We will now receive all grant applications via an online system named Flexigrant. People who currently hold a grant with us will also be able to log on to Flexigrant to manage elements of their grant including submitting progress reports, and to request any changes to their award.

What do I need to do?

Anyone who has previously held or applied for a Moorfields Eye Charity grant will already have an account set up on Flexigrant and will have received an email with the following instructions to activate their account.

To activate your account:

  1. Visit Flexigrant
  2. Select Log in’
  3. Click Forgot password’
  4. Input the email address which we have contacted you on (this is the address we have on record)
  5. Click Send’
  6. Await password reset email from Flexigrant
  7. Reset your password and log in

If you have previously applied to us or held an award please do not register a new account as this will create a duplicate account which may result in loss of your records and delay processing of your application.

If you have never applied for a Moorfields Eye Charity grant, please visit Flexigrant and click register to create an account.

Visit our Advice for applicants’ and Managing your grant’ webpages for updated guidance on submitting an application and managing your grant.

Flexigrant is a game-changer for both our applicants and our research team. For applicants it will provide an accessible and streamlined means of submitting applications and managing grants. For the grants and research team it will simplify grant management, allowing us to focus on supporting our researchers and allow for greater insight into the impact of charity funded research.
