'Chop the knot’ raised money for a good cause!

Mark and wife Cerys have been back and forth to the children's department at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London with their daughter Laira since she was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma at three months old.

Congenital glaucoma is a rare condition in babies caused by the eye pressure being too high. Without successful surgical treatment it damages the optic nerve which in turn leads to sight loss.

Mark has been sporting the top knot fashion hairstyle for quite some time now and despite many a request and attempts by friends to chop it off he has been adamant to maintain the look.

On Saturday 25 February 2017, Mark finally agreed to ‘chop the knot’ for Moorfields, a cause close to his heart.

Mark and Cerys wanted to raise money for the children's glaucoma department at Moorfields. Mark has also donated his chopped off hair to The Little Princess Trust who use donated hair to provide wigs for children with cancer.

The night was an amazing success and they raised an astonishing £3,374.46. If you feel inspired by their story, their JustGiving page is still open and you can donate: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Mark-Dixie
