Eye to Eye is back for its 11th year on Sunday 22 June 2025! Join our family-friendly fundraising walk to show your thanks to Moorfields.

Come join us!

Moorfields changes lives. Our fundraising walk gives you the opportunity to give back.

Register now.

All ages and abilities are welcome as we stride with pride through the streets of London. Patients, their loved ones, staff and researchers will be coming together under summer skies to raise funds for life-changing eye research and innovation.

One in five of us will experience sight loss in our lifetime.

Choose from three distances to walk:

  • 1 mile
  • 5 miles
  • 15 miles

Our 1 mile route will explore the quiet, historically interesting streets around Moorfields Eye Hospital. The 5 and 15 mile routes will pass our new centre for advancing eye health being built in King’s Cross, Camden. You will see the exciting future home of Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology due to open in 2027!

All our routes are accessible - they avoid steps and only cross the road where there is a zebra or pedestrian crossing. And for anyone looking for some extra support, you can request company from a volunteer along your route.

Walks start and end at our event village, located outside our Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre. Here you’ll find food stalls, live music and a children’s activity corner.

Jacob, his mum Maria and volunteer Saachi

I consider Moorfields my second family. They have supported me living with retinitis pigmentosa for years and always make me feel relaxed and safe. When I crossed the line and saw my friends and family waiting for me, I felt such a massive sense of joy and pride in myself. I knew that by walking Eye to Eye, I had just achieved something really special.

What your support means to Moorfields

£100

could support a PhD student such as Mahtab Farahbakhsh who used her research to develop fun, engaging and accurate eye tests for children, helping to improve our understanding of how vision develops.

£250

could support patient services such as our pioneering eye clinic liaison officers (ECLOs), offering comprehensive emotional, psychological and practical support to those when they need it the most.

£1,000

could support a Career Development Award such as one recently given to Dr Davide Zecchin, exploring the mechanisms underlying uveal melanoma that could help identify new therapeutic targets and treatment strategies.
